I agree. 2 thru 10 is interchangable.Having see both GW and Haysi play this season. IMO I just believe GW was a better team. Thats all, nothing personal.
"swap 4 and 5"
Yeah all of them are debatable...you could just as easily say swap 3 and 4. Just an opinion...if you consider Haysi and George Wythe it could go either way but I go with Haysi at #4 because they lost the same amount of games as GW but Haysi went one step farther in the playoffs. Both were spanked by eventual state champion Giles so I don't really see how that a GW team that lost to Lebanon and had to win in overtime just to make it to the Region C championship could be ranked ahead of Haysi...once again just my opinion...if you could explain your thought on that maybe I will agree I don't know.

Don't worry I would never take anything on a message board personal unless it had my name in it Out of curiousity which games did you see from each team? Alot of how a team looks depends on who they are playing and what part of the season its in. Some teams look completely different at the end of the season than they did at the beginning...example: Haysi/Honaker...Honaker won the game in September but never really even challenged Haysi in their November playoff meeting.
As for the GW/Lebanon game you mentioned, I just think Lebanon matched up well with GW. Also Lebanon controled Davis (QB) from running wild, and crammed the ball down GW's throat most of the night. It was a very well played ball game on both sides.

I wonder why Lebanon was unable to control Bostic(QB) from Honaker from running wild on them?
Good question. Of course that may have had something to do with first game of the season versus 5th game or whatever it was. Who knows?! I really think Lebanon just wanted that game more.

When talking about southwest va I was going with the area that the most local media considers and what the general consensus would consider "far swva." Far SWVA is probably a more accurate description. The largest newspaper in our area considers SWVA to be the entire Region D, the Southwest District, the Highlands District and the Hogoheegee District. That was the teams that I was considering in my rankings. Anyone else who wants to post theirs can post whoever they want in SWVA for all I care...if you are going to consider Giles SWVA then you might as well include Blacksburg, Christiansburg and the entire Roanoke Valley area including Pulaski County and all the Roanoke City schools.

What I consider Southwest I guess some consider just the West. I consider anyone in Region C and D Southwest. Also anyone in Region 4 and some from 3. But that is our opinions.
Here is how I rank them.
1. Giles.... State Champs
2. Richlands...State runerups
3. Burton...State runerups
4. Graham
5. George Wythe
6. Haysi
7. Rural Retreat
8. Powell Valley
9. Caroll County
10. Tazewell
I would put burton in front of GW.
Go Huskers!
I need to change it. Burton did make the finals.
